After traces and multiple teases, it’s finally official: Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater 5 is an actual game, plus it’s coming to Xbox One and PlayStation 4 later this year, with PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360 versions to follow at a later date.
THPS 1 through 4 played out across a succession of levels, each in another surroundings. To progress, players were required to finish lots of level -specific challenges, from reaching specific high-score thresholds to locating concealed video tapes or grabbing a group of collectibles during one combo.
For THPS 5, Robomodo is sticking to that basic framework while adding in new features, like power ups. The game also ropes in lots of the more modern-day trappings that were not about (or as broadly embraced) back during the early days of the show.
